Naturally occurring phytoestrogen isoflavone found in soy
Genistein is a naturally occurring phytoestrogen
isoflavone found most abundantly in soy. Postmenopausal
osteoporosis is caused by a sharp decrease in estrogen
levels that leads to an increased rate of bone
remodeling. While hormone replacement therapy is
effective in reducing postmenopausal bone loss, it is
associated with a higher risk for breast, endometrial,
and ovarian cancer; cardiovascular disease, venous
thromboembolism; and stroke1*. Genistein has been shown
to positively affect normal bone mass without the
potential side effects of hormone replacement therapy*.
Beneficial in reducing the symptoms of menopause
Genistein has also shown to be beneficial in reducing
the symptoms of menopause. In several clinical studies, Genistein has reduced the severity and sequence of hot
flashes and night sweats without an adverse effect on endometrim. The

Vitamin K2 compounds called menaquinone involved in bone
building
Vitamin K2 is a collective term for a group of vitamin K
compounds called menaquinone. MK-7 is the most active
form of vitamin K2 with the highest bioavailability.
Vitamin K2 is
involved in the production of two bone building, calcium
binding proteins; calbindin and osteocalcin. These
proteins are involved with calcium uptake and healthy
bone mineralization*.
Vitamin
K2 is also involved with the production of matrix Gla-protein
(MGP). MGP is a powerful inhibitor of calcification of
the arteries and cartilage. Lack of calcification of the
arteries helps promote proper cardiovascular health. Vitamin K2 is unique in the fact that
while it promotes calcification and mineralization of
the bones, it tends to inhibit calcification of soft
tissue. The synergistic effect of Genistein and vitamin K2 MK-7
for age-related bone health may be significant*.
Calcium and Vitamin D
Calcium is probably the most important mineral element
for skeletal integrity. Genistein MK-7 is not intended
to be a substitute for maintaining a calcium rich diet,
or also taking a high quality calcium supplement.
Vitamin D is essential for the absorption and effective
utilization of calcium in the body. Genistein MK-7 is a
booster for those who are at risk for age-related bone
loss by providing additional fuel for the body’s natural

Contraindications,
Interactions, and Side-Effects for Genistein MK-7 |
There are no known
side-effects at the levels of ingredients and dosage
suggestions for Genistein MK-7. However,
vitamin D may be problematic for some people.
Therefore, before taking this product, consult with
your health care provider if you have heart or
kidney disease or if you are taking Digitalis,
Orlistat (Xenical), Cholestyramine (Questran), or
antacids with aluminum.
If you experience breathing problems, tightness in
throat or chest, skin hives, rash, or itchy or
swollen skin stop taking this product. |

Other Ingredients: Microcrystalline cellulose L-Leucine, Gelatin capsule
Suggested Use: Take one capsule twice daily, preferably with
meals, or as recommended by your health care provider.
Hypoallergenic: Contains no yeast, dairy, eggs, gluten,
corn, soy**, wheat, sugar, starch, salt, preservatives,
artificial color, flavor, or fragrances.
** although we state genistein is a naturally
occurring phytoestrogen isoflavone found in soy, the
geniVida® brand used
in this product is processed without soy and therefore
people with soy allergies can take this product without any
allergenic reactions typically associated with soy. Vitamin
K2 is also soy free.
